Taylor Swift shades exes Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy: ‘Men will let you down’

Taylor Swift has made bold comments about her ‘hard’ split from Joe Alwyn as she slammed men who made her feel like she’s not a real human being.

The couple dated for more than six years before going their separate ways.

Many people didn’t know what actually happened when the news of their split hit the web in April 2023.

Some even speculated that they had quietly split months prior but kept the news out of the public eye.

Now, the singer has finally shared some insight into when and why they ended their romance as she opened up about the painful aftermath.

In the new episode of her Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era, the Cruel Summer songstress, 36, reflected on going through ‘two breakups’ during ‘the first half’ of the Eras Tour.

That means she and Alwyn split sometime between when the Eras Tour began on March 17, 2023, and when the news broke in early April.

‘There were points in this tour when the tour was the only thing really keeping me going in my life… My personal life was hard,’ Swift said.

‘I went though two breakups in the first half of this tour and that’s a lot of breakups. The show was what gave me purpose and what I could use to get me out of bed.

‘The tour has never been the hard thing in my life, it has been the thing that has allowed me to find purpose outside of the s**t in my life. Men will let you down, the Eras Tour never will.’

The second breakup she is referring to is her split from Matty Healy, whom she briefly dated in the summer of 2023.

Her album The Tortured Poets Department, which dropped in April 2024, is full of references to her splits from both Alwyn and Healy throughout the lyrics.

‘The Tortured Poets Department is like this purge of just everything, everything bad that I felt for two years,’ she said.

‘Feeling like I’m not a person. I’m just this big conglomerate that no one sees as a real human being, especially not men that I date. ‘In the whole process, [I felt] like, nothing works, there’s no one for me in the world.’
