Meghan shares rare snaps of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet as they visit Diana’s childhood home

Meghan Markle has shared a glimpse of her family trip to the UK, including a a stop at Althorp, Princess Diana’s childhood home where the late Princess Diana is buried.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, posted a series of snaps to her 4.7million Instagram followers with the caption ‘Summer Holiday’, with the carousel of 12 pictures including several taken at the Northamptonshire estate, now run by Harry’s uncle and Diana’s younger brother, Earl Spencer.

In one picture, Lilibet, five, is seen walking through the home’s famous tree-lined gardens, while Harry and seven-year-old Archie walk ahead carrying bouquets of flowers.

Diana, the grandmother Harry’s children never got to meet following her untimely death aged 36 in 1997, is buried on a island in the middle of the Oval Lake at Althorp, which is inaccessible to the public but can be visited by family.

In his memoir Spare, Harry talks about visiting his mother’s final resting place and taking Meghan there for the first time on the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death.

Other photos posted by Meghan and set to the Cliff Richard tune ‘Summer Holiday’, show the Sussexes in swimwear spending time at the beach, as well as Harry throwing his daughter up in the air as they play in a swimming pool and enjoying time in Portugal, where they had been enjoying a holiday before heading to the UK.
