Britney Spears in an emotional post declared she had ‘failed as a mother’ while blasting HER parents for coming short on her in a rambling post on X on Friday.
Spears, who likened herself to ‘an angel,’ felt the need to confess her shortcomings after one of her sons told her he didn’t believe in God.
‘My son told me last week it was all science he didn’t personally believe in God … in that moment I believed I had failed as a mother because I know there is a Holy Spirit that sits high in the kingdom of heaven,’ adding that she has ‘been there’ and ‘felt it.’
Spears filed for divorce from her sons’ father, Kevin Federline, in November 2006, just eight weeks after welcoming their second child.
She pressed on by saying: ‘I wanna tell my kids and people in general that I’m sorry for my mistakes in the past.’
The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker shared an old photo of sons Sean, 20, and Jayden, 19, running along a beach as toddlers.
She claimed she found out five years ago that they had been ‘secretly taken to the beach’ by her now-estranged dad, Jamie Spears, and mom, Lynne Spears, without her knowledge or consent.
She described the act inflicted pain on her and left her in tears for two months.
Spears was famously placed under court-ordered conservatorship in February 2008 after a series of public mental health crises, hospitalizations and intense media scrutiny.
She was largely controlled by her father during that time.
