A mass shooting at a restaurant in Glendale, Arizona, left three people dead and five others injured on Sunday night, May 4, according to police.

The shooting occurred at El Camaron Gigante Mariscos & Steakhouse around 7:45 PM. Officer Moroni Mendez of the Glendale Police Department confirmed during a briefing that three people died from gunshot wounds, while five others were injured either by gunfire or shrapnel.

“There were a lot of people here attending some sort of event,” Mendez said. “Anyone with information should come forward so we can conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice for the victims.”

Authorities believe there may have been more than one shooter involved. While no suspect has been arrested, several individuals are being questioned, according to Mendez.

Witness Lupe Rodriguez, who fled the scene, described the chaos. “There was a man on the ground, and it didn’t look like he made it. His father was yelling out his name. It was pretty bad,” Rodriguez said, visibly shaken but grateful to have escaped unharmed.

Investigations are ongoing as police work to identify those responsible for the shooting.
