Jennifer Lawrence repeatedly burst into tears during a car crash interview on The Tonight Show.

The actress appeared on the talk show on Thursday and became highly emotional several times.

At the beginning of their chat, the 35-year-old admitted she was ‘nervous’ and reflected on her recent New Yorker profile, where she discussed feeling like she was ‘annoying’ in interviews when she was younger.

She struggled to fight back tears as the Hunger Games star insisted that she ‘wasn’t gonna say a f***ing word’ during their talk.

Her host, Jimmy Fallon replied, ‘No, you have to say something!’ But Jennifer who was lost for words, burst into loud, dramatic wails during her wide-ranging conversation with the visibly flustered host.

She made her first cry when she recounted a lengthy story about how she became attached to her new movie, Die My Love, which follows a young mother who descends into madness after moving to the countryside with her husband.

Jennifer said: ‘Lynne Ramsay is someone I’ve always wanted to work with. So basically, she cracked it and she’s a genius and… I can’t believe I’m still talking!’

The actress then began to weep loudly in her seat over having to talk for her talk-show appearance. Jimmy then exclaimed: ‘No, stop crying! Stop crying! No, this is fun! You’re having fun on a talk show! Stop crying. Just trust me, this is fun.’

Jennifer then stopped sobbing and told him: ‘Okay,’ as she began laughing.

But she got emotional again as she began sobbing after sharing a story about a comment that got lost in translation on the film’s Canadian set.
