David and Victoria Beckham are visibly frustrated after their estranged son Brooklyn appeared in an advert that joked about family estrangement, friends of the couple have said.
His sister Harper and grandparents are also said to be ‘inconsolable’ after Brooklyn he took a swipe at his parents in an Instagram post with food delivery firm DoorDash to cash in on the World Cup.
The eldest Beckham son, 27, was seen smirking in a sponsored video as he said: ‘You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home… It’s a long story.’
The backlash has been massive and Brooklyn’s team has had to limit comments on the Instagram post.
A friend of the Beckhams told Katie Hind: ‘To do an advert based on estrangement from family as if it’s a joke when his family is devastated and his sister and grandparents are inconsolable is shocking.’
Especially from someone who claims he wants peace and privacy.
‘In Brooklyn’s scathing six-page statement denouncing his parents in January, he hit out at ‘Brand Beckham’ and accused his family of valuing ‘public promotion and endorsements above all else’.
He added: ‘All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.’
