It’s usually the younger generation borrowing from their mothers’ wardrobes, but Queen Mary of Denmark turned the tables on Wednesday by wearing a stylish designer coat from her daughter Princess Isabella’s collection.

During the second day of her state visit to Finland with King Frederik, the 53-year-old Danish Queen donned a striking fuchsia Dolce & Gabbana coat.

According to BILLED-BLADET, the double-breasted coat was previously seen on 17-year-old Princess Isabella at the Nutcracker premiere at the Tivoli Theatre last November.

Princess Isabella wore the coat at the ballet last November

Mary styled the bold piece with grey wide-leg trousers, a coordinating roll-neck knit, and suede heeled boots, proving that royal fashion is truly timeless—no matter the generation.
