Buckingham Palace has announced that French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte will make a state visit to the UK from July 8 to 10, 2025. During their stay, the Macrons will be hosted at Windsor Castle, where they will attend a state banquet.

A Palace statement confirmed: “The President of the French Republic, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by Mrs Brigitte Macron, has accepted an invitation from His Majesty The King to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from Tuesday, 8th July to Thursday, 10th July 2025.”

The statement continued, “The President and Mrs Macron will stay at Windsor Castle.”

Although Buckingham Palace is typically the venue for state visits, it is currently undergoing renovations, prompting the decision to host the Macrons at Windsor Castle.

Macron’s visit will mark his first state visit to the UK since taking office eight years ago. The last state visit from France was in March 2008, when President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, Carla Bruni, were guests of the late Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle.

The Macrons’ visit will precede an invitation to former President Donald Trump to meet King Charles, which is reportedly being arranged for September.
